Collect on OpenSea

FAQ

Good questions.

What is a Mossbit?

A Mossbit is one of 256 original pixel-art characters, drawn at 64×64 pixels. In the story, Mossbits are tiny spirits who live in the cracks of old city walls. Each one is a single NFT, so there is exactly one of each.

What is an NFT?

An NFT is a record on a blockchain saying who holds a particular digital item, here a Mossbit image. Owning one gives you the token. The art licence below says what you can do with the image.

When can I collect one?

Now. Mossbits are listed on OpenSea on the Base network at fixed tier prices, and every Mossbit page here links straight to its own listing. Only trust the links on this site.

How do I buy a Mossbit on OpenSea (Base)?

1) Open the collection on OpenSea: https://opensea.io/collection/mossbits. 2) Switch your wallet to the Base network (OpenSea will prompt you if needed). 3) Pick a Mossbit you like, or use a Collect button on this site to jump to that token. 4) Buy at the listed fixed price. Common starts around 0.002 ETH, Rare at 0.004 ETH, and Mythic at 0.01 ETH, plus a small Base network fee. There is no whitelist and no blind mint. Only use links from mossbits.pages.dev (or mossbits.netlify.app) or the official OpenSea collection page.

How much does one cost?

Prices are fixed by tier: Common 0.002 ETH (156 Mossbits), Rare 0.004 ETH (94) and Mythic 0.01 ETH (6). The collection floor is around 0.002 ETH when Commons are listed. There are no auctions and no blind reveals.

How do I pay?

You'll need a crypto wallet with some ETH on the Base network. OpenSea may also offer card payment through partners, depending on where you live. The total, including any network fee, is shown before you confirm.

What is gas?

Gas is the network fee for recording a purchase on the blockchain. Mossbits live on Base, where fees are usually a few cents or less.

How is rarity calculated?

Each trait option has a frequency. A Mossbit's rarity score adds up one divided by the frequency of each of its 8 traits, and rank 1 is the rarest. The Rare tier is any Mossbit with a trait held by 5% or fewer. Mythic is a Prism skin or the Mushroom form.

What can I do with the art?

The art is licensed CC BY-NC 4.0. You can share and remix it with credit, but not commercially. Holding a Mossbit doesn't transfer the copyright.

Is there a royalty?

A 5% creator royalty is set on resales using the ERC-2981 standard. Some marketplaces may not apply it.

Is this an investment?

No. Mossbits are collectible digital art. There is no expectation of profit or resale value. Community experiments (wall maps, holder badges, seasonal art drops) may appear over time — they are creative extras, never financial promises. Only collect one if you like the art.

How many are there?

There are exactly 256, and no more will ever be made.
